Thankfully, I have tons of stock and will just need to replenish a bit of it. So, I better get busy and start sewing!

The Jamboree is over! It was soooo hot this year that most people actually stayed home. As much as I enjoyed seeing my returning customers, it was really, really hot.

Countdown till the Jamboree!!!

It is CRAZY here!!! I am sewing away my days and parts of my nights as well. Most of my inventory is ready to go but there are always more items I would LOVE to make!

This year, I have PINK Sock Monkeys as well as the Traditional Brown ones! They are Adorable if I do say so myself! And, to go with those little monkies, I have also made some precious pillowcase dresses! These are designed to fit sock monkeys, 18" dolls (like the American Girls) and they also fit my little soft babies. I didn't make tons of these and I do expect that they will sell out quick so be sure to look for these little sweeties while at my booth.

I also have lots of new bows! Both clippies and Big girl bows in a variety of colors and patterns. And, if you love those Hair Flowers as much as I do, you are in luck! I have many beautiful colors and styles; large and small!

Need something to help keep up with all those bows? How about an adorable bow holder?

See? I really have been busy! Now it's time to get back to work!

I know it's been a bit since I've posted but with good reasons! Since my last post, one foster son went to another home and a new foster son came to stay with us. The new one is 2 years old! You can imagine that I've been busy adjusting to that not to mention sewing for the jamoboree, finishing our first year of homeschool and TONS of appointments!

SHEW!!! I need a vacation!!!

Anyway, I have been sewing and here is a sampling of some of the new dresses that will be at the jamboree!

This one is available up to size 4T; it would make an adorable top for the older girls though!

I love them both but the strip work dress is my favorite! The photo DOES NOT do this one justice.... I've got 8 more just about completed and will add photos as I complete my goals!

Now, I just have to finish 30 chalkmats, 20 crayon rolls, several more tutus and about 30 more babies, some sock monkeys, etc. etc. etc. lol, good thing I don't like sleeping!

Healing slowly...

And I do mean SSSS LLLL OOOO WWWW LLLL YYYY...

I imagined that this surgery would be much like my C-section... tender but able to really get back up by my second week and running around town as needed by my third week. So far, it's not been that way at all.

It absolutly drains me being up all day. I'm still homeschooling the girls everyday and that takes a massive chunk out of me. The week of my surgery we used their planned spring break so that baby sitters didn't have to worry with it nor would I my first week back home. I'm really glad I planned it that way because of the pnemonia setting me back a few more days.

I am able to get up and down without assistants every time but there are times I still need to use someone to pull up on. That makes it rough during the day time for sure. I usually sit for a long time so that I don't bother the girls.

I do still walk around with my belly pillow... Kelvin went to walmart on the hurt for the perfect pillow for me and he came back with three! How awesome is he??? One is perfect for my back to help me sit up higher, one is perfect for my belly to hang on to when moving or coughing and the last one just kind of tucks under my side to help support me.

I am finally finished with all medications and that is a blessing because it made me so sick that I had to take fenigren for it. I have had a weird taste/feeling in my mouth now for two weeks. Will be looking forward to tasting real foods!

Anyway, I've complained and explained some of my blessings... I hope to report I'm back to my old self in a short time more and can get back to sewing and crafting all the things I love!

hospital stay

Well, I knew surgery would be rough but things are really rough still. I ended up with pneumonia and had to stay until friday.

So instead of dwelling on all the bad things, I'll tell you about the good things I've experienced over the last week...

1. Family and friends. I have been reminded how much others love me and my family by all the generous things they have done for me like babysitting or cooking for my family while I can't. What a blessing!!! Thank you to all my friends and family for doing what I couldn't!

2. Cards... I got the most beautiful handmade cards from my little ones in Sunday School class. Just precious to me. I missed them this week and I know I won't see them Sunday but I will Wednesday!!!

3. Gripped slipper socks; do I have to explain those? Better than houseshoes and oh so stylish!

4. Good nurses. There is nothing better than a compassionate nurse who is good at her job! Mind you, I have had a range of good and bad nurses but there are some that are just fabulous! Thank you nurses!!!

5. Fabulous husband. I'm telling you, I have been blessed. He managed a whiney, hurting wife and would do anything I asked AND he also managed 5 kids!

6. Great Kids! My oldest has really been a good help... He has babysat or picked up the house or whatever else has been asked of him (except laundry) and has started working a new job. The other 4 kids have been good too. Without them behaving, Jacob wouldn't have done a good job!

7. Flowers... what a cheerful little pick up! Thanks so much Tammy and Karen, and Ben Lomand for those. They are beautiful and smell wonderful!

I just can't thank everyone enough for all the Blessings they have bestowed on me and my family over the last week. If I have left you out, I didn't do it intentionally, I'm a little out of it still and am slowly gaining strength back.

Again, thanks so much for all the Blessings and I ask God to bless you and your families in the same ways!

I made a decision here in the last few weeks that I think will help with my time somewhat.

My website was up for renewal and I have decided to let it go. It's a LOT of work maintaining it and really, for the last several months, I haven't had that time. So, as of Monday, my website will be gone. You can still order from me, all the goodies that I offer, just not through the website.

I will be updating the blog while I'm down to include a sidebar with some of the things I offer. I'm not sure exactly what I'll keep or let go yet, but I'm always happy to create you something special!

The good news to letting the website go is simple: lower overhead means less cost for you! Yippy!!! I will be able to lower several of my prices from the cost of the website. With times as hard as they are, lower prices is good for everyone.

Yeap, I'm poking my head in... for a minute!

This year has already been a roller coaster of crazy ups and downs! Thankfully, I think things will be calmer in the next few months.
Earlier this year, we had a bit of a health scare. Well, a big one for me. My doctor thought I might had endometrial cancer. Scared the heck out of me! So, after a whirlwind battery of tests, we got fabulous results!!! No cancer!!!

We did however, decide to go ahead and do a hysterectomy to get me back to feeling good. My surgery will be next week and I'll be down for a while. Not sure how long just yet but I am really looking forward to getting well and feeling well!

I'm praying that once I'm recovered, I'll feel like tackling some new projects that have been in my head for a few months and get my creative juices going again. I know my family will be praying for a quick recovery so they don't have to eat Dad's cooking every night. We might all loose a few pounds with him cooking! ;o)

So, I will be laying in the bed for a few days and maybe will be able to post a little more often to fill my time! Until then, please keep me in your prayers!

Overwhelming...

So I've said it before: it's been crazy around here but here lately, it's been more than that. It's been overwhelming!
Life is happening at a rapid pace around here these days and I'm praying for a slow down. With the girls being homeschooled this year, I feel like that has actually been a blessing. We can choose how our day goes and what direction it needs to take but there are so many other aspects of our life that we can't control the flow of; doctor appointments, school events, family events and of course, the list goes on.
With all of this busy-ness, I've sort of taken a break from sewing. I've redone the sewing room and kind of chilled out on some things but it seems that the chilling out has taken a back seat at times to busy-ness.

Room back together... I have cleaned both book cases but still need to do something to them to help them look neater...

My room is done is a beautiful warm red and has accents of Paris, creativity and of course sewing all around it. We also use this room for homeschooling.

My messy desk, and blank wall. I still haven't finalized what I should do on this wall but I have some ideas.

Well, I've caught everyone up with my endeavors and I really do hope to get my creative juices going again soon. I miss sewing but even more I miss the creativity of it all. Let's just see what I come up with next!

Well, Christmas is almost here and as the case has been lately, things have been crazy busy! A good busy, but busy none the less.

This year my girls are home with me full time and i have had a hard time just finding some shopping time for all the gifts that are on all the lists. Thankfully,they were super sweet to their mom this year and Kelvin and the kids got me an IPod touch to help keep me sane. :0) I love it! I spend lots of time waiting and this helps my time go so much better and allows me to do lots of my planning while u wait. I am blessed to have a family that loves me enough to give me my gift early cause they thought I could use it! Thanks guys!!

For them, I have managed to create us some all new stockings! They are so cute!!

We are also celebrating joseph's birthday and of course that means a cake! I'll post pictures as soon as I have a little time.

In the meanwhile, I'd like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas!

Kampala Uganda

Since things have been so crazy busy here, I had actually already decided to not to the Homeland Community Bank Show this year. I need a little break. I know I haven't sewn much at all this year, but I do believe its been good for me.

I will be starting a little sewing soon. For a wonderful cause: Jacob wants to go on a mission trip to Uganda next summer. Some wonderful friends of ours actually live in Uganda and run a Christian organization that helps others... those that are sick, poor and lacking clothing, food & shelter... those without parents to care for them and teach them the word of God.

I have some beautiful beads for sale... these beads are made by the children and ladies there to help pay for their needs. These are $20.00 a strand if you are interested and you can contact me through my email: jennifer@thetrendyspot.com These necklaces do not benefit me in any way: 100% goes to Uganda.
These bead strands are different sizes and are perfect for layering with more beads or doubling up to create a multi strand look... Lots of beautiful colors. Some are hand made beads and some are seeds from their area...

So I have a confession: I haven't been sewing. Nothing, not even a little until the Alice in Wonderland Outfit for a sweet little girl who's going to Disney. Of course she had to have an outfit or two so I gladly created her two special sets.

I have been so burned out creatively that I really haven't had a desire to do much sewing. I think I am slowly (very slowly) getting back to a point where I may want to sew again. So, I am entering back in just a smidge at a time... I have a craft show coming up:

RidgeFest Craft Fair ~ November 6th

I will have several babies available for Holiday gifting and a few other goodies as well. Like wallets and key fobs and coin purses and hair bows too! I am a little excited about getting to meet new customers and maybe seeing some favorite repeat customers.

This show is in Woodbury so it is a new venue for me but I am excited about the chance to see everyone. I'll update with new goodies soon!

A little Alice in Wonderland...

So I have been working very hard on two fabulous outfits for Miss Ellie... the first one is an Alice in Wonderland appliqued stripework skirt. Talk about fabulous! It turned out so pretty and I worried about it sooo much!
This little skirt at 8 panels that featured our interpretation of Alice in Wonderland... these are done in pinks with polka dots as accents. I hope you love them as much as I do Miss Ellie!

The first section here includes teacups for the tea party, the "drink me" bottle and of course the important key... I added the words "drink me" to the little tag after these photos were taken.

This section you can see just a tad bit of the little tea cakes, the mad hatter's hat and a teapot for the tea party... again, I added the words "eat me" to the tea cakes and an improper fraction to the hat tag after photos.

What Alice in Wonderland set could be complete without a disappearing Cheshire Cat? So, for the tee, we added the cat's face as the rest of the body disappeared!

For Miss Ellie's second set, I created a fabulous circle skirt with Zebra. It has two layers... the first in black with hot pink tulle accent ruffle and the second layer zebra! It is fierce! For her matching tee, we just added a little zebra applique to complete the look. And wouldn't you know? I didn't take the first picture of this set! How crazy is that? I know mom Natasha plans to get some great photos of both these sets so I will just have to wait to see those!

I hope you guys are having a blessed week! My week has gotten progressively better and I'm enjoying a nothing to do Saturday. Those are so few and far between these days that it is really a sweet treat!

Oh how long it's been!!!

I'm sorry. I'm a bad blogger... haven't been focusing much on the blog but rather Church, family and sewing. It's been crazy busy here most all summer starting with a sewing frenzy to finish my preparations for the Smithville Jamboree. It was a fabulous success and I can't wait to return for another great year next year!
After all that sewing, I needed a little break and took the rest of summer off. It's been a fairly quiet summer here and just a few trips. We did, however, make a rather large decision for our family! We have decided to home school our girls.
With the school year already started, we are already enjoying the library and small field trips and right now, my girls are proudly learning writing skills while they think they are just getting drawing a pretty rainbow picture and telling me about their rainbows. Sneaky huh? ;o)
I will be continuing sewing, maybe not as much as before but then again, I do have two young ladies that may actually enjoy sewing themselves... we'll see!

For those that don't know... I have computer woes. Lots of them. My computer is very slow. So, since my husband does video work for Ben Lomand, for our church program and for a guy from sparta, we decided that I would get his old machine and he would get a new one. Now, his old one will run circles around most new computers but it was getting outdated to do the video work. Here's were we start having problems... moving everything off my old computer onto his computer and everything off his computer to his new computer. You can imagine that it is still not finished. Seriously. He has been working on it but we have also had tons of other things come up that just have to be attended to. You know?
Anyway, I am updating you for this reason: if you are emailing me, I may get it, then again I may not. I can not send out from one of my accounts and I can from another.
Kind of annoying but hey, I do know he is doing his best... just lots of stuff that my sweet honey has to take care of...

Been very busy! Still not where I need to be so that I can get back to sewing but hopefully, I'll feel like my self again soon. Yes, I really have neglected blogging the last month haven't I? Well, without further delay, here are the excuses!!!!
I have the winter time blues. I know, lots of people get them but with the extra snow this year, kids being home and stuck indoors, it seems like it has been much worse this year than normal.
I'm tired, grouchy, headachy, and just blah.
I mean really BLAH.
So much so, that I'm really having a hard time working in my little sewing room.
Well, Friday I did venture out since they were calling for more snow over the weekend and bought a few fabrics for a few new projects that I have actually done.

More Valentines!

I had a couple of special requests for some applique`d tees and I love how they turned out! I hope the little ladies that received them loved them too!

This one is a Shabby Chic style heart layered on minky to match her Minky Pants... We used 4 fabrics and just left the edges raw to allow for shagging out as time goes on. It's so adorable in person!

This C has been done in a fabulous font... it's hard to find fancy c's because they tend to look like E's!!!

I have a few more days that I could create a fabulous tee for you just in time for Valentine's but after this weekend, I won't be taking any more Valentine Orders... I'll be starting Easter sets so go ahead and get your orders in for those!

New Year, New Possibilities!

Well, it is a new year! And with that, anything can happen. I have lots of new items coming, some are still in my head and have yet to make it to the drawing board but that's what I intend to do over the next few weeks. I only have a couple of orders to work on so I should have plenty of time for my creative juices to flow.

With the new year, I hope to keep Christ as my focus and not let the little things drive me crazy. I pray that I am compassionate toward everyone I come in contact with and remember that I am only one step away from those that need help. I pray that God works through me for His good purpose. I also pray for my family... we have added a new member to our little family and I know there will be many trials to come for her and us. I pray that I remember to keep others before myself and to serve self-lessly for Christ's sake.

Hopefully, I will be able to post some pictures of some new items shortly... not that I'm giving myself a time-line or anything. LOL, I think I want to take things a little easier this year. ;o)
Now, to make some Chili for supper... YUMMY!

Christmas Events with the Bond Family

It has been a whirlwind of events here at our home over the last week! Let me start with Michelle Faith Bond...

As many of you know, we became foster parents with the intent to adopt. We had certain things that we felt were important to our family that we would liked to had seen out of the child God had for us... With the 3rd phone call, we were told about Michelle. She was a ward of the state of TN and was waiting for a home would we be interested? After talking with them, we agreed to meet Michelle and when we did, we just knew she was ours. On June 16th, she was allowed to move in and our 6 month wait began. December 16th, our wait was over. We could officially adopt Michelle and on December 22nd, it was final! We decided because she was older, that we would keep Michelle as her first name but add Faith as her middle name. She had to have faith that we would do what would be in her best interest and we had to have faith that God would lead us in this young lady's life. So, Michelle Faith Bond is officially our daughter!

12th birthday... first birthday party

Adoption Day... Thanks to Judge Bart Stanley for fitting us in during the busy holiday season & court schedule.

This has been a long journey that is still not complete... Michelle has had 12 years of bad things and we have only had 6 months to show her good things. Please keep us in your prayers as God will have to lead us in raising this wonderful young lady.

We also had several other events going on like trying to make our gingerbread house. Ummm... it didn't work out so we ate it! LOL, the icing just wouldn't dry and the house kept falling in so here are some pictures of the kids trying to make the house!

At least it was FUN right? Not to mention TASTY with all that candy! YUMMY!!!!

We also had the church Christmas play... Kara and Michelle played the lead roles in this years event and we had so many wonderful little ones helping make this play SPECIAL! It was perfect! :) I hope everyone enjoyed the play as much as I did helping put it together. I laughed every time we practiced and had a wonderful time with the kids!

The rest of the week had been busy with lots of family events and visits from friends. I am happy to say that Christmas was wonderful even though we had a clogged septic tank that my poor hubby had to clean out. I will leave you with a few pictures taken before the kids got up Christmas morning and found the goodies under the tree....

Christmas is just around the corner and of course, the new year is approaching quickly. As I look back, I can tell you that God has truely blessed me this year... lots of new clients, plenty of orders to help out the family budget, and a new child. Yes, a new 12 year old daughter. I have been blessed. Our adoption will be final on December 22nd. How's that for a Christmas present? Since DCS says I can't post pictures of her, it'll have to wait until December 22nd for us to introduce you to Michelle Faith Bond but rest assured, we have plenty of photos and will be posting away.

Other than an early Christmas present, I still have tons of baking to do, the kids will be doing a gingerbread house tomorrow. (Yes, I'm cheating!!! It's a wonka kit from the grocery store!!!) And I will attempt to do a little more wrapping tomorrow while they work on the house. I'll try to take some photos so you can see their creativity. I did manage to make some rootbeer rock candy the other day and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! So I can technically take the candy making off the list righ? LOL, yes, I'm making more!

We will be getting the house in TIP TOP SHAPE Monday and baking cookies after everything is in its place and after that, well, we'll just take it easy until Christmas Eve. I do have some shopping left to finish. Just a few things. But enough to drive me crazy. Yes, I will be a crazy person shopping at the last minute this year. I just haven't had the time to shop like I normally do! Oh well, at least I know what I'm getting everyone, just have to go get it and that will be my first chance to do so.

There are 3 babies left. Only blond ones. If you are interested, they are 20.00 each and I can deliver her to you by Monday or Tuesday. Just let me know!

Ok, so here are the babies that are left... just a couple girls and a couple boys. I won't be making any new babies until the first of the year but I have lots of great ideas for some really cute things!

The second baby on the top row is sold... just 5 more girls left!

There are only four little boys left. With their messy hair, you will be sure to fall in love with one of these little guys...

Also, this weekend, there will be a benefit auction for my Uncle Bill Barnhill. Many of you may know him or he may have done work on your car for you. He was the body shop manager for Willmore Ford for years before opening his own business on Smithville Hwy. He just recently moved his shop next to his home just before he came down sick. He has been without work now for nearly 3 months, and of course, medical bills won't wait for you to go back to work... neither does electricity or water or groceries. But, we can all have a hand in helping out. I know its been hard on everyone financially this year but if you can, please try to make it to the Lucky Community Center for a Ham dinner at 4:00 this Saturday with a benefit auction to follow! Lots of goodies will be auctioned. I've got a few things going to this auction so if you are looking for shower gifts, here you go!

Well, I have managed to finish all but my last order before my delivery date of the 12th and believe I will have it finished by then! At least it is started. ;o)

For those of you that didn't get to place an order, I do have a few babies left from the craft show and just 6 chalk mats... there are 3 camo mats and 2 froggy mats and one baseball mat. The babies are varied and I'll be posting pictures later tonight. These are great last minute gifts or perfect for stocking stuffers but hurry! They will be gone soon!!!

I will be resuming orders after the first part of January... I am looking forward to my little break and spending time baking cookies, trying some candy recipes and just being with the family during this wonderful season!

Remember that Christ is the reason for this holiday season and we should keep Christ in CHRISTmas!

For those of you that didn't get to make it to the 40th Annual Artisian's Craft Show, you missed out! There were some wonderful artists set up and wonderful talent everywhere you looked!

All my customers made this year the best that I've had! Lots of new customers and some of my old ones helped to make this year wonderful...

I really liked my booth's set-up this year... I broke down and bought me a tent and used the frame to help with the lighting situation and also help hold the peg boards to make shopping a little easier...

At my next show, the Smithville Jamboree, I hope to have a white curtain created to help hide all the ugly backdrops that peeked through on the corners of the tent.

Of course, this little guy made my day! He wanted a monkey and just hugged it when he got it. He will give his monkey LOTS of love!

Again, I just want to thank all my customers!!! Without you, I would not be able to set up and have a fabulous, exhausting weekend!!! Can't wait to see you next year!!!

This is probably the last time I will have a chance to post on the blog before the show! It has been a whirlwind of activity here in the Bond household! Along with all the sewing, we have been blessed to have my Uncle moved from Saint Thomas Hospital to one of the local rehab facilities so that he can regain his strength. If you remember, he wasn't supposed to make it through the night but with LOTS of prayers, God heard our petition and answered our prayers. He is doing much better and has a was to go but he is here! God is so good isn't He?

We have also had a ton of basketball games and practices and other appointments! So my sewing has been a stop and go event for several weeks now. The good news is as of today, everything will be completed! The last of the babies will be finished today... be on the lookout for a couple of new things with the babies! We have some sleepy babies, some boy babies and some with new hair styles! Still so sweet and adorable!!! At the jamboree, I'll have a couple of new plushes for everyone too. They are great for boys or girls!

In other news, our adoption lady will be out on Monday for us to sign some papers and we should be able to have a court date in the next week. Please pray it will be before Christmas! It has to be after December 16th, but anything after that is fine. Of course, we also have to go around everyone's schedules too and with it being a holiday month, we may run into trouble with schedules. So, just keep us in your prayers!

Christmas Schedule... It's getting close!

I usually try to wrap up holiday orders & try to have the last of them delivered no later than 2 weeks before Christmas. I want to insure your items arrive in plenty of time for gift-giving or for wearing, depending on what you order. ;o) This year, in order to insure plenty of time, I am setting November 27th as the last date to place an order for holiday delivery. If I have an over whelming amount of orders, I may bring that date a little closer in so please get your orders in now! Delivery date for your holiday items will be December 12th.

Lots of goodies will be available at the upcoming craft show... I got my booth number yesterday and it is booth number 19, main floor. If you look directly at the stage, my booth is to the left and down 4. I can't wait to show some of these goodies off but I want to keep some a little secret too so be sure to check out the show, I know it's going to be SPECTACULAR!!!

So here's a little information about the craft show later this month... well not really later but like in a couple of weeks! I believe you can get the sneak peek tickets from Regions and if you need more information, just let me know... I'll see if I can get more info for you!

The 40th Annual Artisans of the Cumberland scheduled for November 19th, 20th & 21st, 2009 at the McMinnville Civic Auditorium on Garfield Street, with a Sneak-A-Peek scheduled for November 19 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm! Appearing on Thursday night is Country Music Star - Billy Dean! He will be available for autographs and song! Tickets for Sneak -A-Peek may be purchased for $5 each with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Relay for Life. Be first to view, first to purchase and first to enjoy the talents of many local artisans and crafters!

Plan to attend the regular show beginning Friday November 20th and Saturday November 21st. Doors will open at 10 am both days with shopping until 8 pm. Join us for the many live demonstrations including a professional wood turner, basket weaving, windsor chair exhibit, and pottery. This year's show is sure to please everyone!

I can't wait to see everyone there... things are coming together nicely on my end and I'm finishing lots of stuff this week to free up some time for the babies. Lots of babies are coming!

New Goodies

Lots of new goodies being finished... sometimes I get photos, most of the time I don't. My sewing room officially looks like a cyclone has hit it and will remain this way until I have time to straighten it up... Usually 5 minutes before all the family starts arriving for Thanksgiving dinner!

My uncle has been very sick for 17 days now and in Critical Care at St. Thomas hospital. They have called the family in 2 times now because they really didn't think he would make it. My family has been requesting prayers and he needs them now more than ever. Only God can pull him through this and I do believe He is the great Physician. Please remember Bill Barnhill in your prayers and please be patient with me if I'm slow to answer emails!

Couple of new fabrics

I got a quick run to the fabric store in yesterday and came out with 2 cute fabrics for the holidays! I have plans for both of these fabrics and items will be available at the McMinnville Craft show that is quickly approaching!

How can you go wrong with dots? These great shades or pink and green will give your holiday wear a contemporary look. I have 2 other fabrics that will coordinate great with these dots and will be doing some appliqued tees to match!

If your a little more traditional, I have this sweet Angel Cakes fabric to make your holiday wear special!!! This fabric is so precious, pictures do not do this one justice.

I also got some new froggie fabric for new chalk mats.

Of course, I need to be getting everything cut out now so off to work I go! Don't forget to contact me for your holiday orders!

A little sneak peak!

Here's just a couple of the orders I've been working on this week... I still have some bows to finish making for Miss Jenna's pants or they would be in here too.

First, let me just say I LOVE these MINKY Pants! Not only do they feel fabulous, they just look so comfy. I'm thinking I need a pair of these for myself! LOL, I think they would be great as a jogging suit. ;o) Halle's has a perfect ruffle along the bottom of hers. She has a couple more of these for me to finish!

Next, I have little Ella Claire's peacock tutu... I just love these colors and the jewel tones that are coming out from the feathers. I created a tulle rose for the center of a removable broach and added the peacock feathers on both sides. I know Ella Claire is just going to be remarkable in this little number!

I do have a couple more nearly finished but I need to hold onto those until I get them completely finished! I'll post again in a day or two. Next week, I plan to start all the craft show goodies so watch out for those sneak peeks!

I did actually update my fabric selections the other day. I know, its sad to see some of them go but I can't get them anymore and haven't enough in stock to do a custom with it. So sad! BUT!!!! I have orders to do. The fair is next week. Michelle has practice 3 days next week. We have life going on next week. How 'bout you?

We do not plan on going to the fair except to maybe walk through the old villages or something along those lines. I'm not a fan of the fair and I think this year I will break from tradition and on the school's day out, take my kids to Lake Winnie. I think that will be way more fun don't you???

The day after Michelle's B-Day Party, I got SICK. I had the flu and am just now getting better. I ran fever, chilled, coughed, sneezed, watered & anything else you can think of. Thank goodness I'm starting to feel better! I was beginning to wonder if I would have to go to the doctor or worse, the emergency room. This was one tough bug that's for sure!
So, yesterday I got caught up on laundry and today I have to go pay some bills and then start those pictures of my inventory. I'm not going to make another promise that they will get put up today but I do hope to get to it quickly...
In other news, Kara made the cheerleading team at Dibrell for the 5th & 6th grade team and Michelle made the basketball team. Oh my! Just imagine all those practices and GAMES! I'm sure there will be plenty of photos from those soon!!!
Off to get those bills paid!

Michelle's birthday went great! She told us it was her best party ever and that she really liked it a lot! I'm so glad!!! She deserves to have a big party like every other kid and really, it wasn't that big, just lots of family and a couple of friends. I can't post pictures because DCS says no on pictures but I'll post some of her cake. First time she'd ever had a cake other than a walmart cake.

Check out all those cards... FULL of $$$$! She is already asking when we can go shopping!!! LOL, thankfully, she wants clothes! :)

We had home-made Pulled BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw, deviled eggs and of course, CAKE! Everyone had plenty to eat and lots of great company to boot.

She continues to learn and grow and for her age and what she's been through, this is one great kid. We love her and know that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Just remember us in your prayers... We have till December before we can get the adoption completed.

I'll get pictures posted here shortly... lots left to take and I'll get that accomplished as quickly as I can.

No more sharing...

Now before you start lecturing me about the virtues of sharing, let me explain! For the last several years, my sewing room has also been my dining room. Not good. The table was always covered with fabrics, projects to be completed and just a general mess.

We hardly ever got to eat at the table. When we did, it was because it was holiday season and I'd closed shop so that the rest of the family didn't think I was completely insane with my sewing mess. So, come birthdays and holidays, sewing had to be put away. Project pieces went into piles, never to return again.

Well, this week marks a milestone! Our computers were moved into the man cave, the dining room table was moved into the computer room and now at last, I have my own room. It does come with its own set of problems... only 3 walls; its open into my kitchen as this is actually a "den" of sorts. Of the 3 wall, only one is pretty solid so I mounted a counter top to the wall as my work space. Not much room for storing all the fabrics I collect and all the other pretties that I have gathered over the years. The wall I was storing all the fabric on now has my counter top... what to do??

Now, with all that said, you guys will benifit, I hope anyway! I need to have an inventory reduction sale... As soon as the weekend is over, I will start posting pictures of some of my purses, a few o'alls, pillowcase dresses & a few other items to make way for some of the other stuff I have to keep! Be sure to keep an eye open for all the goodies!

In the mean time, I'll leave you with my mess!

P.S. it's already MUCH better, all the fabrics that I intend to keep are put up properly and those that didn't make the cut, well they are going to the dumpsters in the morning. Keep me in your prayers; I need them!

Settling into a new routine...

I don't know about you guys, but I found the end of my summer so busy that I didn't even blog about it! I know, bad blogger right?
Don't worry, with the start of a new school year, I am hoping to get into a gear with a new routine and settle down soon for a little time to sew.
I have been very busy these last few weeks getting all the last little bits together for the school year, finishing a re-do on the girls' room (still finishing all that up) and trying to find a little time for me and my sweet husband.
So lets see, lets start with paper work. I despise it and working with DCS is nothing but paperwork. I thought that we were in this to help a child out, not do paperwork but that will all come to an end in December if all the "paperwork" is filled out properly and we get dates quickly. All is going well with Michelle; she has her ups and downs and that is to be expected. She is learning lots of wonderful things about being part of a family and really seems to enjoy them and accept them. I'm amazed at how wonderful this kiddo has adapted. We've just had her for two months but I truly feel like she has been with us forever now and can't imagine her gone.
To help Michelle really feel like this is her home too, we decided to redo the their room. We settled on some beautiful striped comforters from Target and painted the walls in a light green and teal color to coordinate with the blankets. So far, that's all I've finished BUT I have some great ideas and plan to work on them tonight or tomorrow... I just got the last of the materials to complete my idea today so maybe I'll be able to get it finished before the end of next week. The girls don't know what I'm going to do yet but they know they will have some chalk paint on their wall somewhere! :)
We celebrated our 19th anniversary this year... 19! I can't believe it!!! So, we took a little time to ourselves this year and went to Nickajack lake and stayed at Hales Bar Marina's floating cabins. We had a good time but not as nice and quiet as we would have liked. There were college kids that rented a few cabins and partied all night and the next day. They weren't horrible loud but loud enough that I could have stayed home and had as much quiet. We were disappointed with the response of the staff too... Just "oh I'm sorry to hear that; we'll have someone speak to them" and that was it! Oh well... we still caught a couple of fish and had no kiddos. :)
The kids went back to school this week and I have enjoyed running errands with peace and quiet and no one asking if we can just through the drive through cause they didn't eat breakfast before we left. LOL, I'd be broke if I went every time I was asked! (Which was everytime we got in the car! )
That's about it for now... I'll try to keep this blog updated now that I have 5 minutes to think for myself! :)

Oh how Tired I am!

LOL, I am really tired but it was a great weekend and yesterday was busy doing a LOT of laundry!

Our 150 foot waterslide was a great hit with the kids and adults too. Lots of flying down that hill at speeds that would make a cop chase you! We had a few minor scraps and bruises but overall, God blessed us with no injuries.

We have already started planning for next year's waterslide! Here's some of my favorite shots... I hope you enjoy them too.

150 foot water slide & weekend FUN!!!

This weekend should be a good time with just a bit of work but it's for church and everyone out there that has any interest in 150 foot water slide, fish-fry, good visiting and general fun is invited out! This little adventure started out YEARS ago as a men & boys campout but over the years, it evolved into a family campout. Then, about 5 years ago, they decided to add a 150 water slide for the kids and it quickly became the focus of the "campout".

We'll start the event off with great music tonight... so bring your guitars and spoons!

Of course, the slide (or slides; there are TWO this year!!!!) is going to be going full speed ahead with anyone that is brave enough to take a ride! Open to all ages... from 2 to ????

Of course, there will be LOTS of Food! I'm sure there will be watermelons, hamburgers and tons of desserts but this year, we plan on doing a FISH FRY around 2:00 tomorrow... YUMMY!!!!

Well, I have lots of work to do preparing for tonight and tomorrow so I better get with it!

Jamboree and Fireworks

I'm so glad to have this year's Jamboree behind me! It was wonderful and I loved getting to see all my customers and meeting new ones but it was very tiring and I'm thankful that its behind me. My spot was wonderful and breezy and I didn't have to have a fan run at all so I really was blessed. I also got to see lots of interesting people! Lots of patriotic folks walking around and looking adorable. I look forward to next year and making it LOTS better than this years!

Since I was away for the 4th, we bought fireworks on Sunday and shot a few off last night but plan to shoot off the rest tonight. I got a couple of nice shots so I'm going to post a few of my favorites...

Still Workin'

Well, at least I'm trying too! Last week was Bible School and that was a full week all on it's on.

Slowly but surely, I'll get things done. So far, I've made about 6 new purses... can't wait to take pictures of those! About 6 checkbook covers, 10 chalk mats and still have LOTS more to go. I am running low on supplies and with the little bit of time I have left, I don't know if I'll be able to get more to work on or not.

As soon as I can, I'll post some pictures of those new bags. They really are awesome and I have already claimed at least 2 bags if they don't sell!

Please keep me in your prayers as I try to finish everything up; I feel like a fish swimming up-stream these days!!!

Workin' Hard...

Well, I think I have gotten the last of my stuff cut out for the jamboree. Yes, you are reading this correctly. I have everything cut out; NOT sewn!

It's been so busy around here getting to know Michelle and trying to keep the summer a little fun and I haven't been working as much as I could have and should have.

Now, I'll have to sew like a mad woman to get what I want to offer finished. Thankfully, I do have lots of stuff ready and I'm not going to sweat it. Just need to work on some things that need to be replenished. Like purses, wallets, checkbook covers, pillowcase dresses & hairbows! Not too much huh??? ;o) No worries, it'll all get finished!

As I get a few things finished, I'll post pictures and update as much as I can. Now, back to work!

1. Flowers ~ Not sure why but seeing wild flowers blowing in the wind just kind of brings a smile to my face. I don't care too much for the scents but I like seeing them.

2. Ice Cream ~ What kind of person would I be to not get happy about ice cream? Especially home made butterfinger ice cream... I will be making some tomorrow! YUMMY!!

3. Clouds with sunshine streaming through them ~ I can see the hand of God everytime I see clouds with rays streaming though. There is such a feeling and sense of perfection everytime I see them. It just makes my soul sing with Joy everytime!

4. Dark Chocolate ~ Talk about a sinful pleasure! It brings sweet relief everytime I pop a peice of dark chocolate in my mouth.

5. Jewelry ~ No matter how much weight I gain, jewelry always fits and brings a sweet smile to my face.

6. Flip Flops ~ I just like them... they are colorful, easy to flip on and off!

Drum Roll Please!!!!

This is it: The 100th post on my Blog! I feel like I should celebrate or something! :)

I finally got 2 orders completed and I'm up to date on orders. For this month, I will not accept any orders that will have to go out this month. I do need to prepare for the jamboree! I've oiled my machine, dusted her and she's ready to sew. Now, I just have to get everything cut out and ready for assembly.

Well, I can tell you that we have been taking advantage of the nice weather! :)

We had our potential adoption daughter with us for the second weekend. Her case worker wants us to have at least 2 more visits before they allow her to move in. Remember, a child must live with you for 6 months before you can file for adoption. So, we are waiting our time. We have already fallen for this kiddo and are having a hard time waiting...

I do have two babies that are on order and both will be completed tomorrow! I'm so sorry I've been so slow with these orders but I promise, it's been for family! I'll post pictures as soon as I get them ready for their close-ups.

In other news, I've been avoiding the sewing room because its in my dining room and I didn't want to have to set it up and break it down so much but since time is running out to finish so much stuff for the jamboree, I better get with it!

Please remember us in your prayers! I know I really need them right now. With these emotional roller-coasters we've been riding since April, extreme fatigue has set in. Does it get better???

We had a very fun, full of adventure weekend here. We got to meet a very sweet young lady and get to know her better and can't wait for her next visit...

We started out our weekend with a visit from Gideon... He is such a blast to get going! He was laughing so hard from his tickles that he turned red and couldn't catch his breath. Don't worry, we gave him a break so he was ready for more tickles from everyone!

Next, we went to Dibrell to play a little ball. Again, that was so much fun. I don't play so I got lots of photos! The kids really were tired and decided to goof off on the playground a bit before we left.

Next was a little bit of fishing. I think they caught a few fish... not enough to keep though. They also had an adventure to the creek and caught some crawfish but I stayed home and cooked dinner so no pictures of the creek!
So we are off to a great start for summer! I can't wait to go on more adventures!!!

So graduation was last night and it was so nice out! There was a slight breeze and we sat in the grass on the side of the hill. My sweet honey took the pictures last night and here are a couple of my favorites!

Another Busy Week!

It's been so busy here with us doing a little remodeling, a Kindergarten & High School graduation & getting to meet a very sweet young lady.

Yesterday was the day we got to meet the young lady we may get to adopt and everything went well. We have made plans to have her this weekend and we'll see how things go from there. Talk about stress! It's been so busy and full that today I am so emotional that if you look at me wrong, I may start crying.

I mean, my oldest baby is graduating High School and our lives could be changing again soon. Just a lot to sink in at once.

In other news, I've got a couple of orders to get out and lots of great stuff to create for the Jamboree! :)

Off to get ready for graduation! If you see a blubbering idot that can't stop crying, it's probably me! Say a little prayer for me and my family!

Get's the Purse? Well, I had a really hard time deciding but I really LOVED Brandie's story of the first girl's trip/luggage... so, without further delay, I picked Brandie's Mom!!!

In other news, we got the sheetrock done on the ceiling in our addition. We still have to frame in where our living room & computer room windows used to be and then we can sheetrock the walls. Talk about tons of work left! I do think I will love it once it's all done! :)

In other news: We will be having a special visitor next week... she's 11 and loves sports and Mexican food. So, I will be cooking Chicken Enchiladas for her and see how it goes. If everything goes well, we are planning a weekend visit that could change into a permanent placement for her. It feels like everything is in slow motion and Thursday of next week will never get here but I know things are moving very quickly. Please pray for us and our family. We want this young lady to be apart of our family but most importantly, we want what's best for everyone!

Except being busy! :) I did get out a couple of orders this week but other than that, not much sewing. I have been catching up on housework and laundry. Anyone want to do my laundry for me? It really piled up!

That's a photo of my neighbor's laundry out to dry last summer... did you really think I'd hang mine out to "dry" in the rain??? I don't think I've seen a day that it hasn't rained in a while!

I have also been preparing for the possibility of a new family member; nothing for sure yet so I'll just leave it at that for now.

We have lots of stuff going on here... preparing for graduation, finishing the addition, wondering when we will ever be able to mow our yard again... you know, just stuff. My time off has really been busy!

Today, I think I'm heading to the sewing room to create me a couple of simple skirts. I've been meaning to do this for a bit now but mostly, there hasn't been time. I'll be back to sewing full swing for the next show next week so I really do need to do this while I can... Maybe a purse to match??? Hhhhmmmm, I have just the bag in mind!

Wonderful Craft Show!

I just want to thank everyone for such a wonderful, successful, PERFECT show at Bobby Ray! I got to meet so many of you guys that read the blog and lots of new people that don't read it...

With Brandie's booth so close to mine, Kara and Lauren hit it off and had a great time playing and checking out all the vendors. A special thanks to little Lauren as she was a great help when it came time to take the booth down! It was so sweet watching the girls work together to put everything into their proper place! Thanks so much Lauren!!!

The rain held off to allow many visitors to come out and browse all the great booths that set up.

You guys made all the hard work worth all the effort. :o)

For those of you that didn't get to make it out there, I do have some inventory left and will be creating LOTS of new stuff for the Jamboree in July! If you see something you just love in the photos, drop me an email and I'll let you know if it's still available.

I will be limiting my orders from now until July to afford me lots of time to create lots of fabulous new items and get a beautiful booth designed.

I'm in the home stretch of preparing for the Bobby Ray craft show and will have lots of goodies there but I didn't get to make all that I wanted to so you will have to visit me at the Jamboree!

Prom night in McMinnville...

What a big night! So exciting for the kids and scary for the parents! LOL, yes, SCARY!

Jacob and Tiffany have decided to double with his buddy Cody and his gal Anna. Everyone looked so Beautiful! I hope they have a wonderful, SAFE evening.

Approved as Foster Parents at last!

It's been a long time coming to be able to say that! We started down this road at the end of August last year and yesterday we received our letter.

We have been approved to be foster parents. So exciting! We put down for 0-9 years. They approved us for 0-12 years and up to 2 children.

We also got our first call. So upsetting. I had to say no because of the child's age and situation. I realized immediatly that I wasn't saying no to the lady on the phone but rather to a child in need. It broke my heart to think of the situation the child was in but I couldn't be of help.

I think God is showing me that this is going to be harder than I ever thought possible. He opened the door for this and we walked through. Doesn't mean it will be easy though. I just pray that since HE opened the door, we will know without a doubt which ones we will be able to help and HE will guide us every step of the way.

Please pray for us as this new chapter starts in our lives. That we can serve our God while serving others... that we will use HIS wisdom and strength and shower these children with HIS love and grace.

Apron photos!

I've got apron photos but I'll warn you now, they aren't that great! I really needed a model and natural light but, I'll take what I have.

First is Stella... she has 3 rows of ruffles and a bow to finish off.

Next is Olivia... simple but adorable! This one has a ribbon accent across the front with a bow to finish.

Then we have Jane... practical and cute to boot! Some of the Janes feature a useful pocket and others are just plain fronts.

Then we have Bella but I couldn't get a good shot of it... It has a rounded hem along with a sweet little ruffle all the way around.

Lots more aprons and fabrics to finish up! These aprons will be available at the Bobby Ray Craft Show on May 2nd and many more available at the Smithville Jamboree in July.

Of course, if you see something you like, you can custom order one of the aprons above or you can design an apron to fit your needs!

I'm preparing for all the shows coming up and have lots of really cute Aprons finished already!

Bad for me, each one is my new favorite and I just have to keep it... but sadly, I can't.

I've got 3 basic styles and my buddy Kasey helped me name them...

First is Stella: She features 3 sassy rows of ruffles along the hem with a cute little bow to finish it off.

Second is Olivia: Her features include just a hint of feminine ribbon across the chest along with a cute little bow.

Third is Jane: She is just a practical kind of apron with no frills. Perfect for everyday work!

I don't have pictures yet but should have a couple tonight after church. I wish I had the perfect model available, but I don't. You'll have to settle for my plain ole' white background.

Oh, I almost forgot! I also have some half aprons designed and they are the perfect little hostess apron! I can't wait to get one of those finished...

These will be available at the upcoming shows and through special orders. These will also be a perfect gift for Mother's Day!

He's not there! He is risen and we have much to be thankful for this Easter Morning...

I am thankful that He did die on the cross for me, and I'm thankful that when the Mary's returned, he wasn't there.

Can you imagine how they must have felt when they saw him standing in the garden? I'm sure they were ready to faint away from seeing a "ghost"! How excited they must have been after the first shock!!! Ready to tell the disciples as Jesus asked.

How thankful I am!

Is it me or is it approaching quick this year??? I haven't even really thought much about it until today when I was checking my calendar!

There are lots of great gift ideas for moms...

First, key fobs to hang on to those car keys so she can run you all over town! Lots of ribbons to choose from and at a great deal... perfect for little budgets.
Second, how about a wallet or check book cover so she can keep up with all the money that she can spend on you??? Everyone knows if you have checks, you have money. Again, a great value for little budgets!

I'm considering stepping out of my box. Way out!

I can't say what it is just yet but it would be big news for my little business and hopefully exciting news for those that are interested in what I do.

I'm terrified I'd mess things up or make things too complicated for my family or not be good enough. There; all the fears are out! Isn't that why its so hard to step out of the box? Fear? Well, through prayer, I know God will let me know what I need to do.

As soon as I have something for sure to tell, I'll be doing a give-a-way to celebrate! So, be on the lookout for that and possible news!

LOL, I remember being a kid and watching as my brother and sister run thru the house with their "Capes" streaming behind them! Of course, their capes were the clever adaption of towels or pillowcases or even a sheet.

I love Amy Butler Fabrics and use them in most of my designs so it would only stand to reason that I love her bags right??? Well, I do! They are just so beautiful and functional too.

Relief at last...

At least I hope! It's been a very long two weeks of sickness for me. I've had sinus problems, fevers and finally, strep throat. I started having a sore throat Sat. night and Sunday I had blisters. Well, Monday, I tried to go to the walk in clinic but after signing in, I was told they only see you by appointment. WHAT???? What part of "walk in" did I get wrong? So I go home in misery and call my regular doctor and she fit me in this morning. After having a good dose of antibiotics in me today and sleeping all day, I'm actually feeling better tonight than I have in 2 weeks.

If I have an order to send out to you, please be patient. I will get them out in time! I feel pretty good right now and can only imagine that I will be better tomorrow so I will be at the machine!

I have lots of goodies on the sewing table so I hope to post some of those this weekend!

Lovely Euro Mermaids

Just for Halle! This set is just beautiful and I'm sure Halle will look lovely in it.

After much planning, Julie finally found the perfect fabric for Halle's birthday theme: Mermaids.

The fabric came in just last week and I got it on Friday. After some thought, Julie decided exactly how she wanted the set to look so after the final go ahead, I got it going first thing Monday. Her set consists of 3 great pieces... an appliqued tee, appliqued capri's and a very full dress.
I love making sets like these because they are so versitile! Wear the dress alone or with a tee or with the capri's... Then you have the tee and capri's... wear them seperatly with other peices or together. And of course, a sash belt is great to finish the look. It can be worn with the jeans, in her hair or with the dress. So, for the money, you just can't bet the value in one of these 3 piece sets!

The dots look red but they are hot pink to match the pink little mermaid's tail... I can't wait to see Halle try it on today!

Sinus Problems...

Ok I know its that time of year but honestly, I could do without all the sinus pressure, coughing, sore throat, yucky drainage and well, you get the picture.

I have been up and down for nearly 2 weeks now. You see, those fun photos I took, caused my allergies to flaw up something awful! Within hours of getting back to the house, I thought I'd die from the pressure! My head is still swimming and if you see me out, please act like you don't know me: I may not be able to talk without coughing out my words. I've only gotten out a couple of times due to this but last night, I actually slept all through the night without my coughing fits keeping everyone awake.

Could this really be coming to an end??? I hope so! I need to stand without feeling so tippsy... I need to talk without coughing... and frankly, I miss the taste of food!

Have a great weekend and watch out for those blooms! They should come with their own caution sign: Beautiful but Highly deciving... Can cause Severe Allergy Attack that renders you tipsy for weeks!

Fun Photos

Recently, I was asked to take some pictures for my son's friend, Cody. So this past Tuesday we went down to the creek and to Rock Island and had a little fun.

I still don't have all the photos edited because my sinuses went into shock over something in bloom and has knocked me for a loop these last few days. The fog is lifting though and I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things!

Cody brought his girlfriend Anna along and she just giggled the whole time! They were a blast to photograph... if she wasn't in the picture, she was talking with Cody and making him smile. What more can you ask for?

I hope these turned out as great as you wanted Cody!

Busy Spring!

Wow! It is shaping up to be a VERY busy spring! I have been so blessed with an abundance of orders and add in family functions, church functions and working towards becoming foster parents and its been crazy busy.

Now, along with everything else, we had a roof put on and a dear friend (who is here daily helping edit his hunting show) says "Why don't we just build a studio on???) So, guess what? HE is adding on! LOL, yes, HE is adding on a studio space where our front porch was. They got delayed because of the rain but I think today they will be building some walls. This is a great thing but its kind of crazy here with the amount of help that is here and I am trying to feed everyone. But, when it's finished, the old studio will be the new dining room and I'll have my very own space instead of sharing the dining area. Lots of work to do! I'm excited!!!

Orders are coming along; I'm a little behind but rest assured: I will catch up. 2 big orders shipped out today and tomorrow I'm starting on some of the Easter sets and goodies that need to go out in the next few weeks. So, if you haven't heard from me, rest assured, I am working! Just a little slow with all the activities going on here. Anyone know how to iron? ;o)

Swelling is gone!

Thank goodness! The swelling is gone and I got a good report when I had it checked out. Unfortunetly, it has put me behind a bit on orders but don't worry; I'll get them all out as quickly as I can. I have 3 that I'm working on right now. The big order for The Pink Boutique is nearly completed and a couple more are close to finished as well.

Once I get these out the door, the others will go pretty quickly.

I'm down for a day or two with swelling in my leg so I have been keeping it evelated and my spirits high by shopping... oh what could I be buying??? New fabrics, ribbons and other supplies!

Here's a sneak peek at just a couple of the fabrics.

Do the apples and pears look familiar? A beautiful print for purses, kids' outfits and Aprons! I love how the colors look so vibrant together.

This Sassy little Zebra is a decorator weight fabric and I got this one to corrdinate with the beautiful damask print below... I can't wait to see them together!

The giraffe print is just so pretty! I can't wait to play around with it. I have a new design that I think this print will be perfect for.

About the Smithville Jamboree Craft Show

I have been thinking about doing the Smithville Jamboree for a while now and I think I will. There are drawbacks to doing this show though and it worries me greatly!

First, its in July. Need I say more? It will be hot. It is going to be HOT. No way around it, it can't help but be HOT. It's July! So, with that said, do people really shop when it's hot like that? I mean, I'd love to just sit there but I prefer to do my sitting in air conditioning if at all possible.

Second, the economy is rotten. I do mean ROTTEN! Will people be able to afford to splurge on handmade goodies? I try to have a variety of price points, but still, it is costly to do these shows and that doesn't even include the time it takes to prep for a show.

Third, since this is an outdoor show, I'll have to spend an additional amount of time and money to set up my display. Everything I have is designed for indoor shows so I'll have to do that too.

And fourth, I do make a wide variety of items. I have no idea what will sell best at this show and can't afford to waist time and money on items people won't want. So, I'll have to really examine my items and decide what people will be buying most. Very hard job!

Kind of sounds like I'm trying to talk myself out of the show huh? I do really enjoy the shows but I also have to consider all these things and my family too. What will they do without me over a holiday weekend??? How in the world will they manage the fireworks AND potatoe salad???

I don't know... what are your thoughts on this??? Anyone willing to pass on words of wisdom???

New Metal Roof

I'm so excited! After having a need for a bit now, we are finally getting a new roof put on. We decided to go with a metal roof and I can't wait to see the results!

Right now, the guys are on my roof making the awefullest racket! You would think they are about to fall through the roof any time! LOL, I think if they need a break and want to get a cup of coffee, they should use the door, not the roof. ;o) They are laying the felt down now and that is why there is such a ruckus up there. When it warms up a bit, I'll go check out their progress and take some pictures.

In the meantime, I'm going to "try" and get some orders completed so I don't get too far behind!

Dr. Seuss Week Outfit

I had a request to do an outfit for Dr. Seuss week for Little Miss Laurel and as soon as Paige asked me about doing the dress, my head started taking off on a wacky adventure thinking of all the fun I could have with it! Well, Paige told me what she wanted and I got started!

It was a very busy weekend that has just now slowed down. We had a great dinner to celebrate Jacob's birthday Friday night... 6 homemade pizzas with loads of yummy toppings. And I forgot to take pictures! We had such a house full that I stayed busy making sure everyone had plenty to eat and drink that I didn't even pull out the camera...

Saturday Jacob and my husband and some of the Passin'Time Outdoors guys headed to Nashville for the Turkey Show down there. I believe they had a GREAT time meeting some of the Hunting celebrities. After they finished there, they headed to Opry Mills mall to the Outdoor Shop and again, had a great time. Jacob spent some of his birthday money on new camo.

While they played in Nashville, I took Kara, Dakota & Peyton out for a fun filled day. We started out by stopping by the Sweet Shop and they had a great time picking out some jumbo sized jaw breakers! They are still eating on those. After the sweet shop, we headed to the skating rink. Yes, I did skate. No, there are no pictures available! ;o)

Once we finished that, we had suprise party supplies to pick up for Sunday after church. This was for Jacob and his friend who shares a birthday exactly one year apart, Dillion. Again, I no pictures!!! I forgot my camera!

It was so hectic and crazy all weekend that I was exhausted and half thinking. So, no pictures. And no Sunday afternoon nap either. Once the suprise was finished, I had to run back to town and get supplies for a church finger food get together/shower. That went well and on Monday, I did laundry since I hadn't done any all weekend!

Whew! I'm tired just thinking about all that running!! I think I'll head to bed now.

Looking Back...

It's been 18 years... some long and some short. Some hard and some so sweet! I'm talking about the last 18 years of my oldest son's life. He was born on February 20th at 2:02 AM in 1991. Seems like yesterday.

Watching him grow from a sweet baby boy into a silly little toddler and now, a fine young man. He still has lots to learn but I'm sure he will do just fine if he listens to God's word and works hard to do his best.

I have been struggling to let him go a little more each day and it's so hard to realize that they don't need you like they did as little babies. At the same time, I'm proud that he doesn't need me so much.

He graduates this year and will start a new chapter in his life and will start making his own path in life.

Tax Time!

For me, I dread this time of year... I do want to get it over with as quickly as possible though so I bit the bullet today and got all my papers in order... This is no easy feat for me! I am so not organized with all my receipts and invoices. I spent a few hours in pure torture and thankfully, I can see the other side!

I do save all my receipts and keep them seperated but (and this is a BIG BUT!) I am bad about buying things other than just business supplies at the same time! Since my little business is a hobby, I don't have seperate accounts for business and household. This is probably a big no no but, my tax preparer doesn't kill me. (If looks could kill though, I'd be dead!)

So, thankfully, all I have to do now is bring all my hard work to my tax lady and let her figure out all my craziness!

Danessa & Britton Cantrell lost their little angel early this morning after battling medical problems since she was born. Little Mylie Beth Cantrell is suffering no more, the Lord is now watching over her.

Words can't express how this affects me... I can't imagine what they are going through. I just know the best thing I can do for them is pray for them and offer any help or support that I can for the whole family...

They need our prayers and love, so please remember them tonight as you pray.

Fireproof Movie

After much anticipation, I did really like the movie! It was great and I think it can help a lot of couples who feel there is nothing left of their marriages. Only with God's help can a marriage stay on track.

Our church will be hosting a marriage class/event in which we will be showing the movie on February 8th. As soon as I have more details, I'll post them but I wanted to invite all my bloggy buddies out for this!

Well, I better get back to my sewing room so I can get some work finished today!

Finally!!! It's here and I got a copy this morning!

I have been a fan of these guys since they made their first movie, Flywheel, (which is excellent by the way!) and have waited to see this movie since I first heard about it.

I've got a couple of newlyweds coming over tonight to view the movie with us and guess what??? I'm missing Biggest Loser to watch this one! So, one of you biggest losser fans will have to fill me in on the adventures of Joelle this week... will she ruin her friends chance to come back tonight??? I thought she was a goner last week and can't believe they let her stay!

Anyway, back to the movie! I'll post a review of it as soon as I'm finished watching it!
